How to use lifebuoy

Most falling water accidents are sudden, and water rescue is actually a race against time. In an emergency, when a person falls into the water or is trapped in a flood disaster, the prime time for water rescue is only a few minutes. Both the person falling into the water and the rescuer need to understand the correct use of the lifebuoy in order to rescue more quickly.

1. The thrower holds the lifeline of the lifebuoy with one hand, and throws the lifebuoy in the downstream direction of the person who falls into the water with the other hand. When there is no current and wind, the thrower should be thrown upwind so that the person who falls into the water can grab it. Be careful not to hit the person who falls into the water. You can also tie the lifeline to the railing and throw it into the lifebuoy with both hands.

2. If someone does not fall into the water while sailing, the person who falls into the water should call out loudly to attract the attention of other personnel. The discoverer should take the lifebuoy nearby and quickly throw it to the sea near the person who fell into the water. The specific method is: throw the lifebuoy upwind to the person who fell into the water. The person who fell into the water first grasped the handle cord, and then pressed down the side of the lifebuoy with both hands at the same time, so that the lifebuoy was erected, and the hands and head got into the ring. The body floated in the water, waiting for help.

3. If someone falls into the water while the ship is mooring, it is best to throw off the lifebuoy with buoyancy rope at this time. After the person who fell into the water picked it up, the crew on the boat recovered the buoyancy line and pulled the person who fell into the water to the side of the boat.

Precautions for the use of lifebuoy

1. Storage of lifebuoy

The lifebuoys should be placed on both sides of the ship where they can be easily accessed, and there should be at least one at the stern; they should be able to be removed quickly and must not be permanently secured.

2. Custody of the lifebuoy

The lifebuoy is stored in the open air, it is easy to damage. When storing, pay attention to: always pay attention to whether the appearance is cracked, whether the handle is worn or moldy, whether the buoyancy material is aging; Remove rust, paint, and repair damage in time.

3. Safety precautions for lifebuoy

The position of the lifebuoy must be correct; the lifebuoy must not be thrown into the water; the lifebuoy must not be used casually at ordinary times; check it every three months.

4. Lifebuoy inspection and maintenance management regulations

The captain (or the designated person in charge of the platform) counts the number of lifebuoys every week (before the typhoon), and at the same time checks the reflective tapes, self-lighting lights and ropes on the lifebuoys, and informs safety if they are found to be damaged or not firmly attached. Supervise the replacement. If there is any loss or damage, it should be reported to the safety supervision immediately for supplement and repair; the reflective tape falls off and sticks it immediately. The self-ignition light of the lifebuoy should be inspected by the captain every shift. If the plastic box of the battery box is deformed or the battery pole piece is found to have white rust or swelling, it means that the battery is broken and should be replaced immediately; the self-ignition light should have a good seal Performance: If moisture enters the battery, the battery will gradually fail, so you can not pull the water inlet cover at will.
